Clemson Men's Golf Team Ranked Third

PRINCETON, N.J. - Clemson is ranked third in the nation according to the latest MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings. The list is administered by the College Golf Foundation in Princeton, NJ.

Georgia is rated number-one, followed by defending NCAA champion UNLV. The Tigers are third followed by ACC foe Georgia Tech. Houston is ranked fifth and Oklahoma State is sixth. Arizona State, Texas, Florida and Minnesota complete the top 10.

Individually, Jonathan Byrd, Clemson's stroke average leader for the season with a 71.70 figure, is ranked third in the nation behind Bryce Molder of Georgia Tech and David Gossett of Texas. Clemson's John Engler, just .06 behind Byrd in terms of stroke average, is fourth in the nation. Lucas Glover of Greenville is ranked 19th, while Clemson's number-four player, Michael Hoey, is rated 36th.

Clemson will next be in action May 20-22 at the NCAA East Regional in Providence, Rhode Island.
