AUGUSTA, Ga. - Georgia Tech golfer Matt Kuchar, who is currently preparing for the 1999 Masters, will appear on ESPN's Up Close Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The show moved its set to Augusta for the week and is being hosted by golf reporter Jimmy Roberts. Other players featured are 1996 PGA Tour Player of the Year Tom Lehman and 1998 U.S. Amateur Champion Hank Kuehne of Southern Methodist.

Kuchar, the 1997 U.S. Amateur Champion, shot 72-76-68-72=288 even par to tie for 21st last year and gain an excemption to this year's championship. He was the the low amatuer at the Masters and U.S. Open a season ago.

Currently, he is averaging 73.76 strokes a round for Georgia Tech and was co-medalist at the Waikoloa Intercollegiate in February. The Yellow Jackets will next be in action April 16-18 at the ACC Tournament at the Old North State Club in Uwharrie Point, N.C.
