Wake Forest's Brendan Gielow Honored as ACC Men's Golfer of the Month for February

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wake Forest senior Brendan Gielow, from Muskegon, Mich., has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Golfer of the Month for February. Gielow birdied two of his final three holes to capture medalist honors at the Jacksonville Invitational at the famed TPC of Sawgrass Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Gielow took the individual lead after a stellar round of 69. The win was the second of his career. He carded rounds of 76-69-73 (+2).
Two weeks later at the Wexford Intercollegiate at the Wexford Plantation played in Hilton Head, S.C., Gielow fired rounds of 73-72 (+1) to finish tied for 10th and help lead the Demon Deacons to their first team victory of the season. Wake edged out host Francis Marion by one shot. Gielow’s 10th place finish was his fourth top-10 finish in five events this year. For the month, Gielow averaged 72.6 strokes per round over five tournament rounds and made a total of 14 birdies and one eagle.
