Tech Tied for Fourth After 36 Holes at Red River Classic
October 12, 1998 DALLAS - Georgia Tech's golf team placed fourth after the first 36 holes of the Taylor Made Red River Classic on Monday, which is being played at the 6,766-yard, par-72 Dallas Athletic Club.
Sophomore Bryce Molder (Conway, Ark.) paced the Yellow Jackets by carding a 71-67--138 to finish six-under par. Redshirt-sophomore Wes Latimer (Woodstock, Ga.) finished in the top 20 after firing a 70-71--141 to place in a tie for 17th at three-under par. Junior Carlton Forrester finished two-under par, while senior Mike Pearson and freshman Kris Mikkelsen both were three-over to end the day. Tech shot the second best round of the first 18 holes with a 278, and shot a 285 in its second 18. The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday. Team standings after 36 holes:
