Blue Devils Place Sixth At Administaff ASU Invitational
Sophomore Wes Roach fired a two-under 70 in the final round of the Administaff Augusta State Invitational on Sunday as Duke closed the tournament sixth overall with an 11-under 859. The Blue Devils shot a one-over 289 at Forest Hills Golf Club (par 72, 7,161 yards) in the closing round.

Host Augusta State shot an 11-under 277 on Sunday to run away with the team title with a 54-hole score of 36-under (828). Tennessee-Chattanooga finished second at 23-under (841), while Kent State (-21, 843), Central Florida (-15, 849) and Coastal Carolina (-15, 849) rounded out the top 5.

Roach carded his first under-par round of the event on Sunday with the two-under 70. He posted seven pars and two birdies (No. 2 and No. 6) on his opening nine holes of play and moved to four-under on the day after an eagle on the par 5 11th hole. Roach dropped two strokes after bogeys on No. 14 and No. 15, before carding his third birdie of the day on the par 3 16th hole. Following a par on No. 17, Roach bogeyed No. 18 to close the tournament tied for 47th with a two-over 218.

Hokies finish ninth at Augusta
Virginia Tech shot a three-round total of 862 and finished in ninth place at the Administaff Augusta State Invitational at the par-72, 7,161-yard Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga., on Sunday afternoon. The Hokies shot even-par 288 and two-under-par 286 on Saturday and shot even-par 288 on Sunday.

Senior Drew Weaver (High Point, N.C.) and redshirt junior Matt Boyd (Sugar Land, Texas) led the Hokies with three-round totals of two-under-par 214 and tied for 31st place. They finished 12 strokes behind medalist Taylor Floyd of Augusta State. Boyd's two-under-par 70 was the Hokies' low round of Sunday and tied for the low of the tournament for Tech.

Sophomore Marshall Bailey (Fincastle, Va.) tied for 47th at 218. Redshirt senior Will Oldham (Spartanburg, S.C.) tied for 56th at 219 and sophomore Garland Green (Tazewell, Va.) tied for 81st at 226. 

Tar Heels Finish Play at Administaff Augusta State Invitational
The University of North Carolina men's golf team finished play at the Administaff August State Invitational in 17th place. Host school Augusta State took the tournament with an impressive 36-under par 828.

Sophomore Kevin O'Connell shot three-over par on the day to finish the tournament tied for 31st. The Cary, N.C., native ended with a total two-under 214 for the tournament.

Sophomore Henry Zaytoun III, of Raleigh, N.C., went even in the final round to finish tied for 47th. Freshman Jack Fields struggled after shooting two-under on Saturday. Fields, from Southern Pines, N.C., finished at a tie for 78th with a total 225.
