VIRGINIA TECH HOKIES

FRANK BEAMER: I think you give Florida State credit. They came in here and played a great football game. They reacted to the criticism and they got some great athletes and those guys performed, and I think you give them all of the credits in world. They did the number. I'm proud of our football team, we battled back but got ourselves into a little too much of a hole. All of the credit goes do Florida State and they did a great job.

THE MODERATOR: Questions?

Q. Frank, after going 3 3 at halftime, how much did the quick scores by them take things out of you?

FRANK BEAMER: Well, the punt return and then couldn't get the ball. We couldn't move the ball twice. Their defense is great. You know certainly, got us in a hole. But, you know, the other part, our players did battle. They just kept battling. They just couldn't get a call at the right time. It was just a tough night. I thought a great effort by us and certainly a great play by Florida State.

Q. Frank, could you tell their front 4, was it anything different that they did, or just speed and quickness to March kiss?

FRANK BEAMER: They got to him a few times. I thought we protected pretty well for the most part. We just couldn't quite get the ball completed sometimes. And they are good. They are good. I told everybody last week. I mean this is a very, very good defense and they are. It's athletic, strong. Can run good.
