ACC Football Officials' Mini-Clinic to Take Place on Saturday in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference will hold its fourth annual Football Officials’ Mini-Clinic on Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 2:30-6 p.m. at the Charlotte Convention Center. The event, which focuses on youth, high school and college officiating, will cover topics such as communication techniques, career development and officiating mechanics for all levels.
Partnering with USA Football, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Arbiter Sports, Fuel Pizza and Wings and Honig’s Whistle Stop, the ACC will bring in its football officials to instruct and guide participants in several key areas of officiating. In addition, there will be special video breakout sessions by position.
"Our officiating staff is putting together a dynamic agenda that provides attendees with the highest caliber of relevant, nationally accepted and video based information related to officiating in a condensed and interactive forum," said ACC Coordinator of Football Officials Doug Rhoads.
Included in the $40 registration fee is admission to the mini-clinic, as well as a ticket to the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship. Participants will also receive a custom instructional DVD, access to ACC FanFest, a $10 Dick’s Sporting Goods Bonus Certificate, and a gift certificate from Honig’s Whistle Stop.

2012 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship: The 2012 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game will be played at 8 p.m. on Dec. 1 at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium and will feature the Atlantic Division Champion Florida State against the Coastal Division Champion Georgia Tech. Tickets for the general public are on sale. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
