THE GAME: Maryland will play host to Virginia in its final home game of the 2003 season ... the Terps will also look to win their second-straight when the two teams tangle on a nationally-televised affair on ESPN ... this is the 68th meeting in a series that began in 1919 ... the Cavaliers have won 10 of the last 11 meetings but still trail in the series 38-27-2 ... Virginia has won four of the last five meetings in College Park ... the Terps last win over the Cavs was a 41-21 decision in 2001.

LAST YEAR: The Cavaliers finished out their home slate with a 48-13 win over No. 18 Maryland ... UVa QB Matt Schaub was 23 for 27 with 249 yards passing and three touchdowns ... Maryland RB Bruce Perry lead all rushers with 10 carries for 95 yards.

THE COACHES: Ralph Friedgen is 26-8 in his third season at Maryland ... Al Groh is 45-55 in his ninth season as a head coach, including a 19-15 mark in his third year at Virginia.
