GREENSBORO, N.C. — Maryland Quarterback Chris Turner and Miami Quarterback Jacory Harris headline the Atlantic Coast Conference Football Players of the Week for the games of Oct. 16-18. Turner threw for a season-high 321 yards and a touchdown, against Wake Forest. Harris was responsible for five touchdowns (4 pass, 1 rush) in the Hurricanes win over Duke. Joining them this week are Maryland Tackle Bruce Campbell, Virginia Linebacker Jon Copper, Boston College Linebacker Mark Herzlich and Florida State Placekicker Graham Gano.

Maryland’s Turner went 28-for-41 through the air to claim the Offensive Back of the Week award. He threw for 321 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions on Saturday against Wake Forest. Harris was 18-for-28 with 185 yards passing with four touchdowns to earn his second Rookie of the Week honor. He added another score on a 15-yard run in the third quarter.

Campbell claimed Offensive Lineman of the Week honors in his second career start. He helped anchor the Terrapin offense that gained 470 yards and did not allow a quarterback sack. Virginia’s Jon Copper was named Defensive Lineman of the Week with a career-high 16 tackles, 10 solos and one for a loss in Virginia’s 16-13 overtime win over North Carolina.

Boston College’s Herzlich was named Defensive Back of the Week as he led all defenders with 13 tackles in the Eagles’ win over 17th ranked Virginia Tech. Gano took Specialist of the Week honors as he made four field goals to extend his streak of consecutive three-pointers to 10. For the third straight game, he converted on a try of 52 yards or more.

OFFENSIVE BACK—Chris Turner, Maryland, Quarterback, 6-4, 210, Jr., Simi Valley, Calif.
Turner completed a career-high 28 of 41 passes (68.3 percent) for a season-high 321 yards, including one TD with no interceptions. He cut through a Demon Deacon defense that entered Saturday’s game leading the nation in defensive pass efficiency, and having not surrendered more than 253 passing yards in a game this season. He found nine different receivers in the game and connected with Darrius Heyward-Bey 10 times for 92 yards.

OFFENSIVE LINEMAN—Bruce Campbell, Maryland, Tackle, 6-7, 285, So., Hamden, Conn.
In his second career start, Campbell graded out as Maryland’s top offensive lineman in the upset over No. 21 Wake Forest. The Terps rushed for 140 yards and the offensive line did not allow a sack in 41 pass attempts, enabling Chris Turner to throw 321 yards against the No. 1 pass defense in the nation.

DEFENSIVE LINEMAN—Jon Copper, Virginia, ILB, 6-0, 230, Sr., Roanoke, Va.
Copper had one of the best performances of his career and led the Cavaliers with a career-high 16 tackles on Saturday in UVa’s 16-13 overtime win over North Carolina. Ten of his tackles were solos and he also had one tackle for loss. His 16 tackles are the most by a Virginia player in six years.

DEFENSIVE BACK—Mark Herzlich, Boston College, OLB, 6-4, 238, Wayne, Pa.
Herzlich led all defenders with 13 tackles (8 solo, 5 assist) and had two tackles for loss as Boston College defeated No. 17 Virginia Tech. The Eagles held the Hokies to 240 total offensive yards, 150 on the ground and 90 through the air.

SPECIALIST— Graham Gano, Florida State, PK/P, 6-1, 197, Sr., Pensacola, FL
Gano accounted for 14 of the Seminoles’ 26 points in a 26-17 win over the NC State. The senior raised his field goal streak to 10 in a row with a perfect 4-for-4 night versus the Wolfpack. His 10 straight field goals is the second-longest streak in FSU history. Gano connected from 37 yards twice and then from 44 and 53 yards in the win. His 53-yarder came with 1:53 left in the game and FSU only up by six points. It was his third straight game with a 50-yard field goal.

ROOKIE— Jacory Harris, Miami, Quarterback, 6-4, 185, Fr., Miami, Fla.
Harris threw a career-high four touchdown passes and ran for another touchdown in helping Miami to a 49-31 road win at Duke. He completed 18-of-28 passes for 185 yards and rushed 10 times for 53 yards. He was first Miami quarterback since Kyle Wright against Wake Forest in 2005 to toss four TDs. He also was the first Hurricane since Wright to account for five touchdowns in a game.
