GREENSBORO, N.C. – As the start of the 2012 NCAA football season approaches, the Atlantic Coast Conference encourages its fans to participate in College Colors Day on Friday, August 31.
College Colors Day is an annual celebration dedicated to promoting the traditions and spirit that embody the college experience by encouraging fans across America to wear their favorite college or university apparel throughout the day. The inaugural national spirit competition is presented by The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), a division of IMG College, and NCAA Football.
Leading up to Friday’s College colors Day, ESPN.com powered a national spirit competition called Pledge Your Allegiance for College Colors Day, where registered fans could pledge their allegiance to 165 participating colleges and universities. Standings for the title of the school with the most college spirit and loyal fan base are tracked nationally, as well as by conference.
