Torbush Dismisses Tailback From Team

July 26, 2000

Daniel Davis, a rising sophomore tailback from Stafford, Va., has been dismissed from the University of North Carolina football team by head coach Carl Torbush for failure to meet team obligations.

"It is unfortunate it has come to this step because Daniel joined our program with great expectations, but we have told Daniel that he will not be a member of our football program this year," says Torbush. "Daniel knew he had to meet certain standards we expect of our players and his failure to do so has resulted in this action. I certainly wish him nothing but the best in his future."
