CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Virginia football fans will have the opportunity to meet the 2005 Cavalier squad at the annual Meet the Team Day on Thursday, Aug. 18, at Scott Stadium.

The North and East gates open at 3 p.m., with the team arriving at approximately 3:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and will be held rain or shine.

Scheduled activities for Meet the Team Day include locker room tours, a uniform try-on station, V-Sabre face-tattoo painting, free posters, commemorative autograph cards, schedule cards, plus much more. There will be a live band performing at the North entrance and fans can ride the gyrosphere. In addition, there will be plenty of food, beverages, and Cavalier merchandise to purchase, including the 2005 Orange Fever t-shirt that has become a fan favorite and the official 2005 media guide, which is great for autographing.

The Cavaliers report for preseason practice on Thursday, Aug. 4, and practice starts the following day. UVa opens the 2005 season at home against Western Michigan on Sept. 3 in a 6 p.m. kickoff.

Season tickets are sold out for the second consecutive year; however, a limited number of single-game tickets are still available for the season opener, as well as the Duke (Sept. 24), Temple (Nov. 5), and Georgia Tech (Nov. 12) games. Tickets can be ordered online at virginiasports.com or by calling the Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-542-UVA1.
