![]() Virginia Picked to Finish Fourth in ACC Coastal Division
July 24, 2007 Pinehurst, N.C. - Virginia has been picked to finish fourth in the Coastal Division by media members attending the annual Atlantic Coast Conference Football Kickoff this past weekend at the Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, N.C. This is the second consecutive season the Cavaliers have picked to finish fourth in the division. Last season they finished third in the division with a 4-4 conference record and were 5-7 overall. Virginia Tech received 77 of 83 first-place votes to capture the Coastal Division. Georgia Tech was picked to finish second and Miami third. North Carolina and Duke were chosen to finish behind the Cavaliers, in fifth and sixth place, respectively. Florida State was tabbed to finish atop the Atlantic Division with 37 first-place votes. Boston College was selected second, followed by Clemson, Wake Forest, Maryland and NC State. Virginia opens the season at Wyoming on Sept. 1.
