Football Saturdays in the South

July 23, 2009

Charlotte, N.C. - Raycom Sports' Emmy Award-winning summer television series, "Havoline Football Saturdays in the South," continues this weekend. This is the second of six one-hour episodes, hosted by Tim Brando and syndicated in 60 markets throughout the greater southeast and Atlantic coast.

This weekend's show brings fans an Emmy Award-winning segment on the history of Skipper, the Virginia Tech cannon fired before each game. A friendly rivalry with VMI led two enterprising Hokie students to start the tradition 46 years ago. Learn about how it came to be and how it became a tribute to President John F. Kennedy.

And meet Kevin Plank, founder and CEO of Under Armour. A former walk-on and special teams captain at the University of Maryland, he grew his passion for football into one of the world's leading sports apparel companies.
