Isle of Palms, S.C. - Florida State was tabbed the ACC's 2001 preseason favorite at the conference's annual Football Kickoff at the Isle of Palms in South Carolina on Monday afternoon. Media members who cover the ACC participated in the vote.

The Seminoles received 64 first place votes and 624 total points. Florida State has won outright or shared the last nine ACC football titles. Bobby Bowden's team has also participated in all three BCS National Championship games.

Georgia Tech picked up five first place votes and is predicted to finish second in the 2001 conference race. Clemson finished third in the voting with 492 points and one first place vote.
