Noting the Draft

The ACC has had at least one first round selection in 16 straight NFL drafts and in 25 of the last 27 ... the ACC had an all-time high eight first round selections in 1997.

Since joining the ACC in 1992, Florida State leads all ACC teams with 18 first round selections ... the Seminoles have had at least one first round selection in seven of the past 11 years ... North Carolina is second with nine first round selections, followed by Virginia (5), Clemson (5), NC State (4), Georgia Tech (2) with Duke, Maryland and Wake Forest one apiece.

Five of the 25 ACC players selected in the 2004 draft were linebackers ... over the past eight years, a total of 38 ACC linebackers have been drafted, including 18 in the first three rounds.

ACC newcomer Miami set an NFL record with six players drafted in the first round of the 2004 NFL draft while Virginia Tech had two first round selections ... Miami has had 19 players drafted in the first round in the past four seasons ... the Hurricanes have had at least one first round NFL Draft pick in each of the past 10 years.
