NC State's C.J. Leslie, Florida State's Aaron Thomas and Boston College's Olivier Hanlan earn weekly ACC basketball honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – NC State’s C.J. Leslie has been named the ACC Player of the Week while Florida State’s Aaron Thomas and Boston College’s Olivier Hanlan have been selected the conference’s Co-Rookies of the Week.
Leslie led the 25th-ranked Wolfpack to victories over Stanford, 88-79, and St. Bonaventure, 92-73, extending NC State’s winning to six straight games. Against the Cardinal on Tuesday, Leslie scored 16 points, shooting 6-for-10 from the floor and 4-for-5 from the free throw line. He also grabbed six rebounds and had two blocks.
On Saturday, the Holly Springs, N.C., junior posted a career-high 33 points versus St. Bonaventure by hitting on 10-of-13 from the floor. Leslie also went 13-of-18 from the charity stripe, setting career-highs for free throws made and attempted. He also had eight rebounds, three blocks and two assists. For the week, Leslie averaged 24.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game. He shot .695 (16-23) from the field and .739 (17-23) from the free throw line.
Thomas averaged 17.0 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting .500 from the field (11 of 22) and .857 from the free throw line (12 of 14) as the Seminoles won twice last week. The Cincinnati, Ohio, freshman had 17 points in Monday’s 63-48 over Louisiana-Monroe. Thomas closed out the week with another 17-point performance in Saturday’s 79-76 win over once-beaten Charlotte.
Hanlan notched his first collegiate double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds in a 71-68 win against Big East foe Providence. The Aylmer, Quebec, native had nine defensive rebounds, two assists and two steals in 40 minutes of action. Hanlan currently ranks second among ACC freshman and 19th overall with 12.8 points per game.
