Duke (4-0, 0-0 ACC), ranked 10th in the nation by the AP and by ESPN/USA Today, faces Valparaiso (0-3, 0-0 Mid-Continent) on Dec. 4 in the United Center in Chicago, Ill. Tipoff is set for 2:00 PM ET (1:00 CT). Duke leads the all-time series vs. the Crusaders, 1-0. The Blue Devils defeated Valpo, 97-63, in Cameron Indoor Stadium on Feb. 26, 2004, behind Daniel Ewing's 20 points and a seasonbest 15 three-point field goals. Luol Deng added 18 points for the Blue Devils, Shavlik Randolph had 16 and J.J. Redick had 15. Against Mid-Continent Conference foes, Duke is is 2-0 (1-0 vs. Chicago State in 1977 and 1-0 vs. Valpo in 2004). The game will be televised nationally by espn2 with Dan Shulman (play-by-play) and Len Elmore (color) calling the action. Chicago Ties Assistant coach Chris Collins grew up in nearby Northbrook, Ill., and starred at Gelnbrook North High School. His father, Doug, coached the Chicago Bulls from 1986-89. Junior guard Sean Dockery was a 2002 McDonald's All-America selection and three-time All-State honoree from Julian High, which is about 20 minutes away from the United Center. The Illinois all-time leader with 1,179 assists and 664 steals, he was a four-time All-Public League selection in Chicago as a prep. His father, Steve, is the head basketball coach in the city's Corliss High School. Nearly 40 of Dockery's family and friends are expected to be in attendance at Saturday's game.
