![]() Boozer, Duhon and Jones Named To FIBA Team

DALLAS (AP) - National champion Duke placed three players on the 12-man U.S. team that will compete in next month's FIBA 21-and-under basketball world championship in Japan. Blue Devils forward Carlos Boozer and guard Chris Duhon were selected by coach Jim Boeheim of Syracuse, and swingman Dahntay Jones, who sat out last season after transferring to Duke from Rutgers, also made the squad. The rest of the team announced Friday by USA Basketball: Boston College guard Troy Bell, Connecticut forward Caron Butler, Kansas forward Nick Collison, Illinois forward Brian Cook, Iowa forward Reggie Evans, UCLA forward Jason Kapono, St. Joseph's guard Jameer Nelson, Georgetown forward Michael Sweetney, and Michigan State guard Marcus Taylor. Boeheim's assistants are Ernie Kent of Oregon and Phil Martelli of St. Joseph's. The tournament, Aug. 3-12 in Saitama, Japan, includes 12 countries. The U.S. team is in Pool B with Argentina, Croatia, Israel, Japan and South Korea. Pool A is Australia, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Qatar, Slovenia and Spain.
The U.S. team opens Aug. 3 against Croatia.
