ALMADA, Portugal - Chris Williams (Birmingham, Ala.) and Adam Hall (Katy, Texas) of the University of Virginia combined for 26 points, eight rebounds and five assists to help the USA Junior World Championship Team to a 119-59 victory over China on Thursday (July 15) in the 1999 FIBA Men's Junior World Championship in Almada, Portugal. The game was the first of the tournament for the USA team.

Williams, a 6-6 forward, scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the USA in both departments. He also had three assists, two blocked shots and one steal in 19 minutes of action. Williams made seven of eight shots from the field, including one of two three-point field goal attempts, and he made all three of his free throw attempts.

Hall, a 6-5 guard/forward, scored eight points, grabbed two rebounds, had two assists and two steals in 17 minutes of playing time. He made four of six shots from the field, missing both of his three-point field goal attempts, and missed his only free throw attempt.

Casey Jacobsen scored 17 points for the USA, Michael Wright had 15 and Bobby Simmons added 10. The USA shot 67.6 percent from the field (50-74) and out-rebounded China 38-16.

The USA team next plays Greece on Friday (July 16).
