ORLANDO (AP) - The Orlando Magic signed rookie swingman Corey Maggette on Monday. Terms were not disclosed.

Seattle chose the 6-foot-7 guard-forward from Duke in the first round of last month's NBA draft. The SuperSonics then traded him, along with Dale Ellis, Don MacLean and Billy Owens to the Magic for former Clemson Tiger Horace Grant and two future second-round picks.

Maggette averaged 10.6 points in 39 games, including three starts for the Blue Devils, who lost to Connecticut in the NCAA Tournament championship in March. He shot 52.5 percent from the field and 71.6 percent from the free-throw line while averaging 17.7 minutes.

"We think that he was one of the elite athletes in this year's draft and will be in this game," Magic general manager John Gabriel said.
