July 13, 2001
Former Maryland star Steve Francis, the 2000 NBA Co-Rookie of the Year and last season's scoring leader for the Houston Rockets, is to be featured on the July 14 edition of NBA Inside Stuff.
Air time is 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC. The show can be seen locally on WRC-TV (ch. 4) in Washington, and WBAL-TV (ch. 11) in Baltimore.
Hosted by Ahmad Rashad and Summer Sanders, Inside Stuff will examine Francis' summer in Maryland as both a teacher and a student. Inside Stuff joins Francis for a day as he teaches at his basketball clinic in Silver Spring, MD and attends classes at the University of Maryland, where he is studying for a degree in criminal justice.
Francis played one season at Maryland, 1998-99, and was a second team All-American before opting for the NBA draft and achieving professional stardom in his first season. He has returned to taking classes in summer 2001, and is still active with the Maryland basketball program. Check out Francis' NBA profile on NBA.com.
