July 1 is the official date for NBA players to become free agents and when the league issued its list of players no longer under contract on Sunday, a couple of familiar names showed up.

Former NC State stars Chucky Brown and Todd Fuller are just two of the 149 NBA free agents who will spend the next three weeks looking for new employment.

For some, like Chris Webber, Dikembe Mutumbo and David Robinson, contract offers won't be difficult to come by. But Brown and Fuller may have to work a little bit harder to find new deals.

Fuller, a 6-11 center from Charlotte, is coming off an injury plagued campaign for the Miami Heat. After landing on the disabled list on two separate occasions with patella tendinitis, he saw limited action in only 10 games last season.

Of course, Brown is no stranger to this scenario. The NBA's all-time nomad has already set a new league mark by playing for 11 different teams over a 12-year period. After signing a 10-day contract with Cleveland on January 29, the 6-8 Brown ended up staying with the Cavaliers for the rest of the year. In 26 games, he averaged 4.0 points per contest.

By rule, NBA free agents cannot sign new contracts until July 18.
