A look back at the 2008 NBA Draft
Led by Cleveland's selection of NC State's J.J. Hickson as the 19th player chosen in the first round, four ACC players were selected in the 2008 NBA Draft ... Sean Singletary was the first Virginia player selected since Roger Mason was chosen by the Chicago Bulls in 2002 ... James Gist was the seventh Maryland player selected since 2001 and the 56th Terp overall ... Deron Washington was the first Virginia Tech player to be drafted since the Utah Jazz selected Eddie Lucas in the second round in 1999 ... a list of ACC players selected in the 2008 NBA Draft follows:

First Round Dominance
With the selection of NC State's J.J. Hickson by Cleveland, the ACC extended its streak of having one first round draft pick in 20 consecutive NBA drafts ... the ACC has had the most, or tied for the most, first-round picks in the NBA draft in four of the last seven years and 10 of the last 16.
Streaks
Duke has had at least one player selected in the NBA draft in 10 of the past 11 years ... Florida State has had one player selected in four of the past five years ... North Carolina has had five "Lottery Picks" over the last three drafts.
First Round Notes
In 2007, Georgia Tech and Boston College each had two first-round selections for the first time in their school histories ... 37 ACC Players of the Year have been drafted in the first round ... in 2005, North Carolina tied an NBA record four first-round selections ... Duke also had four first-round draft picks in 1999.
1-2-3
Only once in NBA history have the first three players drafted been from the same conference ... in 1986, North Carolina's Brad Daugherty (Cavaliers), Maryland's Len Bias (Celtics) and NC State's Chris Washburn (Warriors) were selected 1-2-3.
