GREENSBORO, N.C. - For the first time in league history, two players tied for ACC Player of the Year honors as Duke's Shane Battier and North Carolina's Joseph Forte ended balloting deadlocked with 32 votes each. Duke's Jason Williams was third with eight votes.

Battier is the third straight Blue Devil to earn ACC Player of the Year recognition, following Elton Brand (1998-99) and Chris Carrawell (1999-2000). Battier is listed among ACC statistical leaders in 10 of the league's 12 categories.

Forte leads the league in scoring (21.6) and is listed among league leaders in nine different categories.
