All-Defensive Team and All-Freshman Team Selections Announced

ACC Tournament Central | All-ACC Selections | Updated ACC Stats Shelden Williams was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year Tuesday in a vote by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association. Williams earned 91 of a possible 121 votes for the award and was also a unanimous selection to the All-Defensive team. Williams is the only player in the NCAA to rank in the top seven nationally in rebounding and blocked shots. His 11.1 rebounds per game average is the highest in the Coach K era at Duke and he's on pace to be just the third player in Duke history to lead the ACC in rebounding. He also leads the league in blocks, offensive and defensive rebounding. In ACC play, he ranks eighth in the ACC in steals at 1.81 per game and he's the only post player ranked in the top 10.
