Bobby Cremins Chat Wrap
Feb. 12, 2002
Talk ACC Basketball with Bobby Cremins
TheACC.com would like to welcome Bobby Cremins to today's live chat. Let's get started.
Bobby Cremins - The sleeper team has to be Wake Forest to make a run in the ACC Tournament and on a national level maybe Butler or Gonzaga might go further than the Sweet 16 this year. Getting back to the first part, if anybody is going to beat Duke or Maryland I think it is going to be Wake.
Bobby Cremins - It should be a very tough game for the Tar Heels. They're only chance is to play like they did at Clemson. Adam Boone and Melvin Scott need to step up. They have to play like they did at Clemson that is their only chance.
Bobby Cremins - I would have to go to NC State right away. Josh Powell and Julius Hodge jump out at me. Vytas Danelius from Wake Forest. Possibly Jenifer or Elton Brown from Virginia. At Georgia Tech, I like Elder. I would include Jawad Williams at UNC. I am probably missing somebody. For rookie of the year it will be between Julius Hodge or Josh Powell.
Bobby Cremins - Yes, I do. I have always thought it would be great to coincide with the NBA and put the college line exactly like the NBA line.
Bobby Cremins - Probably our first ACC Championship in 1985 when we defeated UNC for the third time to win it. Right after that beating Minnesota to get to the Final Four.
Bobby Cremins - Very dangerous team. You have to remember who they lost to. You have to remember Adam Hall was injured. But also remember those four freshmen are getting invaluable experience that will really help them later on. Should they get Adam Hall back, I think they will be a very dangerous team in the NCAA.
Bobby Cremins - Well thanks for the compliment. However I am really enjoying doing TV. It is keeping me close to the game. Right now I am going to pursue the TV career. I do want to keep my options open and if something special attracts me I would look at it. I live in Hilton Head and the quality of my life is very good right now.
Bobby Cremins - Right now considering the situation he was under, Herb Sendek is my choice for ACC Coach of the Year. Considering his situation Herb has gotten over the hump, he made a great hire in Larry Hunter. He changed his philosophy, his team has come together and he has defeated his critics. Too bad he didn't sign the big guy out of Raleigh.
Bobby Cremins - Great player, he needs help inside from his teammates. He is getting double-teamed every time he touches the ball. I have him very close to first-team All-ACC.
Bobby Cremins - Michael Jordan and Len Bias.
Bobby Cremins - I like it very much. It is keeping me very close to the game I love dearly.
Bobby Cremins - Boozer has more experience. He has a great team around him, but Travis Watson is one of my favorite players. Boozer right now is having a better year because he has stayed healthy and he has a great surrounding cast.
