GREENSBORO, N.C. - Boston College's Jared Dudley was named the ACC Player of the Week and NC State's Brandon Costner was selected as the ACC Rookie of the Week.
In earning the ACC Player of the Week award for the second time this season and third time in his career, Dudley averaged 25.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game as the Eagles won twice. The San Diego, Calif., native made 19-of-23 (.826) from the floor, including seven-of-eight (.875) from three-point range. The senior forward had 30 points, 13 rebounds and four assists in Sunday's 80-59 win over 16th-ranked Virginia Tech. Dudley leads the ACC in scoring (19.5), rebounds (8.9) and minutes played (38.2).
Costner averaged 12.0 points and 11.0 rebounds as the Wolfpack posted a pair of league wins over ranked opponents this past week. The Monclair, N.J., freshman posted his sixth double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds in Saturday's 83-79 win over No. 3 North Carolina. Earlier in the week, Costner had nine points and 11 rebounds in State's 70-59 win at No. 16 Virginia Tech. On the year, Costner has scored 10 or more points in all but one game and leads all ACC freshmen in scoring (16.2) and rebounds (8.1).
