    Wolfpack Drops Winthrop, 74-48, at RBC Center

    RALEIGH, N.C. - From the first possession of Tuesday night's game against Winthrop, NC State played its best basketball of the season.

    The Wolfpack built as much as a 21-point lead in first half and cruised to a 74-48 victory in its first appearance at the RBC Center.

    It was McCauley's seventh career double-double and his first since the 2007 National Invitation Tournament second-round game against Marist, when he had 19 points and 10 rebounds.

    Junior Brandon Costner netted 12 points and senior Courtney Fells had 10, while sophomore Tracy Smith came off the bench to score 13 points and grab six rebounds.

    Strong Duo Leads Yellow Jackets to 74-47 Victory

    ATLANTA, Ga. (AP) - Gani Lawal and Alade Aminu combined for 30 points and 20 rebounds in Georgia Tech's 74-47 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday night.

    Georgia Tech point guard Moe Miller was unable to play after sustaining a concussion in an overtime win at Mercer last weekend.

    Coach Paul Hewitt moved freshman shooting guard Iman Shumpert to start in Miller's spot. Sophomore sixth man Lance Storrs, making his first career start, replaced Shumpert at two-guard.

    Clemson Defeats Savannah State 81-49

    CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Trevor Booker and Terrence Oglesby scored 17 points apiece to lead Clemson to an 81-49 victory over Savannah State on Tuesday night in a game between unbeaten Tigers.

    Savannah State (4-1) outscored Clemson 17-3 at the start of the second half to cut a 22-point halftime deficit to 44-36 with 14:40 remaining. But Clemson finished with a 31-9 run to put the game away.

    Clemson, which is off to a 6-0 start for the fourth straight season under coach Oliver Purnell, blocked 14 shots and outrebounded Savannah State 47-28.

    Cavaliers Fall to Liberty 86-82

    CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Kyle Ohman and Seth Curry scored 26 points each to help Liberty knock off Virginia 86-82 on Tuesday night.

    Anthony Smith added 21 points for the Flames (2-1), and Jesse Sanders had a game-high eight assists in the win.

    Sammy Zeglinski led the Cavaliers (3-1) with 24 points, and Sylven Landesberg added 17. Mike Scott finished with a game-high 17 rebounds in the loss.
