Duke Men's Basketball Post Game Quotes

Nov. 25, 2000

Duke Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski

"I thought we played really hard tonight, and coming out with that energy after last night's game was terrific. I was very proud of our guys' effort, because I knew Army would play really hard."

On Army:
"They're a lot better than they were last year. I think that showed in the second half. They played their defense a lot better in the second half. They're battlers. I love their backcourt of the two Spatolas. Those two kids are tough kids. We were playing great defense in the first half, and they withstood that and didn't turn the ball over very much."

On the stretch of 3 games in 4 nights:
"We kind of set this up to make it a tough two weeks for our basketball team. I'm trying to put our guys in different situations. These next two games will extremely difficult, and I think we'll get better no matter what the outcome is."

On Carlos Boozer:
"I was really pleased with Carlos, because he built on last night. He should come out and dominate in a game like this, and he did. Our guys really looked for him."

On Duke's status at this point in the season:
"I'd like to be a little bit deeper right now than we are. We tried to develop that tonight. Nick Horvath's inury set us back a little bit with that. He did really well in our pre-season, and he's just been knocked back with a series of different injuries. Andre Sweet played a little more aggressive tonight, and we can build on that."
