Picked to finish 10th in the 2010-11 ACC Preseason Poll, Boston College won five of its last seven games and finished 21-13 overall and tied for fourth in the ACC with a 9-7 league record...under first year head coach Steve Donahue, the Eagles earned their ninth postseason bid, and eighth 20-win season, in the last 11 years, advancing to the second round of the NIT...the Eagles ended the 2010-11 season with three 1,000-point career scorers - Joe Trapani (1,383), Corey Raji (1,312) and Reggie Jackson (1,254)...Jackson earned first-team All-ACC recognition, while senior forward Joe Trapani was a third-team selection for the second consecutive season...Jackson finished third in the ACC in scoring (18.2), field goal percentage (.503), three-point field goal percentage (.420) and assists (4.5)...the Eagles made a school single-season record 306 three-point field goals a year ago, led the ACC and were fifth nationally in three-point field goals per game (9.0)...BC finished second in the ACC and 22nd nationally in fewest turnovers per game (11.1)...the team's leading returning scorer, guard Danny Rubin averaged 4.1 points and 1.6 rebounds in 29 games, including 23 starts as a freshman; shot .434 (33-of-76) from behind the arc; had a career-high 14 points against Holy Cross (N22); made two-or-more 3-pointers 11 times...playing in all 34 games as a freshman, guard Gabe Moton averaged 2.5 points and 1.3 rebounds per game; came on strong at the end of the season averaging 3.1 points, 2.0 rebounds over the last seven games while shooting .471 from the floor...Matt Humphrey played in 19 games for the Oregon Ducks in 2009-10, making four starts; missed 12 games because of a knee injury; averaged 5.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game, scoring in double figures in four times.

Steve Donahue enters his second year at BC after guiding the Eagles to a 21-13 overall record and a tie for fourth place in the ACC standings during his inaugural season at Chestnut Hill...Donahue assumed the program's reins after serving 10 years as the head coach at Cornell, where he led the Big Red to three consecutive Ivy League titles (2008-2010) and a trip to the 2010 NCAA Sweet 16...in his 10 seasons at Cornell, Donahue compiled a 146-138 overall record, including a 55-15 (.786) record in Ivy League play over the last five years...Donahue coached and/or recruited seven of the school's top 13 all-time leading scorers, two Ivy League Rookies of the Year and two Academic All-Americans...in 2009-10, Cornell captured the school's third-straight Ivy League title en route to an conference-record 29 wins, the program's first NCAA win, and a trip to the Sweet 16...in 2009-10, the Big Red won 18 games away from home, the most among any Division I school and were ranked as high as No. 22 nationally in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll - the program's first national ranking in 59 years...in last year's NCAA Tournament, the 12th-seeded Big Red advanced to the "Sweet 16", defeating fifth-seeded Temple and fourth-seeded Wisconsin by double figures...prior to his arrival at Cornell, Donahue served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator under Fran Dunphy at Penn for 10 years...a 1984 graduate of Ursinus, he captained both the baseball and basketball teams as a senior, earning four letters in both sports. |
