Entering his third season at the helm of the Wake Forest basketball program, Dino Gaudio has posted a 41-20 record… after a 17-13 mark in 2007-08, Gaudio's Deacons burst onto the national scene in 2008-09, finishing 24-7 overall and 11-5 in the ACC… Wake Forest spent the entire season ranked in the top 25, including a No. 1 ranking (J19) before finishing 12th in the final Associated Press poll… in the process, Gaudio became the third-fastest ACC head coach to have his team ranked No. 1 and led the Deacons to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in four seasons… named the 20th head basketball coach in Wake Forest basketball history on August 8, 2007… a veteran of 28 years of coaching, Gaudio joined the Wake Forest staff as an assistant coach in 2002, when Skip Prosser was named head coach… after three seasons with the Deacons, Gaudio was promoted to associate head coach... Gaudio coached alongside Prosser for 17 years, including 13 at the college level… in 20 years at the college level, including seven seasons as a head coach, Gaudio has helped his teams compile a 351-249 record, a .585 winning percentage... 11 of his 20 collegiate teams have reached the postseason including 10 NCAA Tournament berths and a pair of Sweet 16 appearances… was the head coach at Loyola (Md.) College from 1998-2000, compiling a 32-52 mark in three seasons… prior to his stint with the Greyhounds, Gaudio was the head coach at Army from 1994 to 1997 finishing with a 36-72 record in his four seasons… his 19 wins in his first two seasons were the most by a West Point coach in more than a decade… a 1981 graduate of Ohio University, Gaudio earned double bachelor's degrees in accounting and secondary education... received a master's degree in secondary education from Xavier in 1991.

Three starters and 53 percent of the team's scoring are back from a Demon Deacon squad that finished 24-7 overall, tied for second in the ACC with a 11-5 league mark and made the school's 21st NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2005 ... with all five starters shooting 47 percent or better from the field in 2009, the Deacons led the ACC and finished fourth nationally in field goal percentage (.490) ... Al-Farouq Aminu averaged 12.9 points per game and led all ACC freshmen and was sixth nationally among first-year players in rebounding (8.2) ... Aminu shot .516 from the field and blocked 38 shots en route to earning All-ACC Freshman honors ... L.D. Williams averaged 8.0 points and 2.7 rebounds a year ago, earned All-ACC Defensive team honors and has started 87 of 88 games in his first three seasons with the Deacs ... Chas McFarland averaged a career-best 8.7 points per game in 2009, starting 29 games and shooting .522 from the floor ... after starting 60 of a possible 61 games his first two seasons, Ishmael Smith came off the bench 29 times last year and finished eighth in the ACC in assists (3.5) and fourth in assists-to-turnover ratio (1.69:1) ... Tony Woods played in all but one game as a freshman, averaging 3.2 points and 2.6 rebounds and shooting .563 from the floor.
