Entering his eighth season at the helm of the Florida State program, Leonard Hamilton has 36 seasons of coaching experience, including 21 seasons as a head coach ... named the seventh head coach in FSU history on March 18, 2002 ... named the ACC Coach of the Year last season after guiding the Seminoles to a 25-10 overall record - their best mark in 16 seasons - and the school’s first NCAA Tournament berth since 1998 ... picked in the pre-season to finish 10th in the conference, Florida State finished fourth with a 10-6 league record, its third-best mark in school history ... last season, Hamilton became the first ACC coach since Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski in 1997 - and the fifth overall - to be named the Basketball Times National Coach of the Year ... is the first coach to have earned coach of the year honors in both the Big East (1995 and 1997) and ACC (2009) ... is 131-96 in his first seven seasons in Tallahassee, including a 86-48 mark the past four seasons ... earned national recognition at the University of Miami after guiding the Hurricanes to three straight NCAA Tournaments over his final three seasons and earning UPI National Coach of the Year honors in the process ... in his final season at Miami, the Gastonia, N.C., native directed the Hurricanes to their second straight 20-win season, a share of the Big East regular-season championship and the school’s first trip to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament ... twice named the Big East Coach of the Year.

The Seminoles return three starters from a 2009 team that finished 25-10, reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1998 and 11th time overall, placed fourth in the ACC with a 10-6 league mark and played in the ACC Tournament championship game for the first time in school history ... 2009 marked the first time since 1993 that the Seminoles won at least 10 ACC games in a single season ... the Seminoles were listed 16th in the final AP ranking and 22nd in the ESPN/USA Today poll ... led the ACC and were ninth nationally in field-goal percentage defense (.387) ... Leonard Hamilton was named ACC Coach of the Year and senior guard Toney Douglas earned All-American third-team by AP and All-ACC first-team honors en route to being named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year ... the ACC Player of the Year runner-up, Douglas had 25 games of 20 or more points, led the ACC in scoring (21.3) and set a school single-season record with 751 points ... headlining the list of the three returning starters is 7-1 sophomore Solomon Alabi, who earned All-ACC Freshman honors after averaging 8.4 points (9.4 ppg in ACC play) and a team-leading 5.6 rebounds per game ...

Singleton averaged 13.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in the last two games of the year ... Derwin Kitchen had nine games in double figures and finished fifth on the team in scoring (7.9), fourth in rebounds (4.6) and second in assists (2.5) ... Ryan Reid averaged 4.9 points and 3.7 rebounds while playing in 35 games, including 16 starts ... two freshman guards, Deividas Dulkys and Luke Loucks, combined to average 6.7 points, 2.9 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 30.2 minutes a year ago ... Jordan DeMercy started 16 games as a sophmore in 2009, averaging 3.1 points and 2.6 rebounds to go along with 12 blocks and 27 steals.
