Purnell has taken the Tigers to five consecutive post-season tournaments and Clemson has improved its winning percentage in each of the past five years ... in 2008, Clemson finished with a 23-9 record, four ACC road wins and a No. 24 final ranking in the Associated Press poll ... the 23 wins marked the third straight season with 20 or more wins, a first in school history; over that span only North Carolina and Duke have more wins than Clemson (72) among ACC schools ... in 2005, Purnell led the Tigers to a 16-16 record and their first post-season tournament appearance since 1999 ... has taken teams to 13 post-season tournaments and has 11 20-win seasons on his resume ...
