Now in his 13th year as the head coach at Boston College, Al Skinner is first on the school’s win list with a 232-149 (.609) record ... named the 15th head coach in school history on April 17, 1997 ... directed the Eagles to NCAA berths in seven of the past nine years ... in Boston College’s first season in the ACC, 2005-06, the Eagles posted a school-record 28 wins, advanced to the finals of the ACC Tournament and to the “Sweet 16” of the NCAA Tournament ... has guided Boston College to 134 victories over the past six years - an average of 22.3 wins per season ... after leading the Eagles to a share of the Big East regular-season title in 2004-05, Skinner was awarded Big East Coach of the Year accolades ... Boston College opened the 2004-05 season with a school-record 20-0 start, also a school standard for consecutive victories ... after leading his 2000-01 squad to 27 wins and a NCAA Tournament seed (#3) in school history, Skinner was named the National Coach of the Year by Chevrolet/CBS, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, The Sporting News, Eastern Basketball and the USBWA, in addition to being named the Big East and NABC District I Coach of the Year the same year ... prior to his arrival in Chestnut Hill, Skinner served as the head coach at Rhode Island from 1989 to 1997 ... in nine seasons at Rhode Island, Skinner led the Rams to three 20-win seasons and four postseason appearances and was named the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year in 1992 ... Reggie Jackson scored in double figures 12 times and was fifth on the team and seventh among ACC freshmen in scoring (7.0) ...
