Terry Doyle struck out 17 against Danville

Boston College sophomore pitcher Terry Doyle was named Pitcher of the Week in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) after turning in a 17-strikeout, complete game performance on July 2, leading the Pittsfield Dukes to a 2-1 victory over Danbury.

Doyle allowed one run in the first inning, before cruising to his first win of the season. The right-hander leads the league with 50 strikeouts (in 39.0 innings) this season and boasts a team-high two complete games.

As a freshman at Boston College this spring, Doyle went 6-3 with a 3.14 ERA in 18 appearances (five starts). He struck out 66 batters, while limiting opponents to a .236 batting average.
