COLLEGE PARK, Md.- Four former members of the Maryland baseball program are still currently active in the ranks of professional baseball. Brandon Agamennone, Kevin Haverbusch, Garry Maddox, Jr., and Eric Milton all are having impressive seasons as the halfway mark of the year approaches.

Milton, the only player currently on a Major League roster, is having a stellar season for the upstart Minnesota Twins. In 15 starts, Milton has amassed an impressive 7-3 mark with a 3.73 ERA. The southpaw has 59 strikeouts, second-best on the club, and has totaled 99 innings pitched. Milton is one of three Twins pitchers to have at least seven victories along with Brad Radke and Joe Mays, who each have eight wins respectively.

The other three former Terrapins are all playing on the Double-A level in the minors and are all in the same league, the Eastern League.

Brandon Agamennone is currently pitching for the Harrisburg Senators, an affiliate of the Montreal Expos. The right-hander has pitched exclusively out of the bullpen and is 2-0 with a 4.88 ERA in 20 games. Earlier in the season, Agamennone was promoted to Triple-A to toss for the Ottawa Lynx. In eight games with Ottawa, Agamennone finished with a perfect 1-0 record and a 2.38 ERA.

Across the state of Pennsylvania in Altoona, Kevin Haverbusch has put together an excellent comeback season. After missing most of the 2000 season with injuries, the former 20th round pick of the Pirates is batting .285 with two homers and 19 runs batted in.

The third member of the Eastern League trio is Garry Maddox, Jr. of the Trenton Thunder. Maddox is the only player on the Boston Red Sox Double-A affiliate to start 30 or more games and bat over .300. Maddox is hitting .305 with six home runs and 22 RBI.
