Eric Patterson was named a third-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball and Baseball America.

ATLANTA - Georgia Tech junior second baseman Eric Patterson earned third-team All-America honors by Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball.

Patterson, who led the ACC and ranked eighth in the nation with 48 stolen bases, earned All-America accolades for the second time in his career. The Kennesaw, Ga., native was named a third-team All-American in 2002.

One of three players in Georgia Tech history to earn first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors in three consecutive years, Patterson is ranked second in Georgia Tech and ACC history with 124 career stolen bases.

In 2004, Patterson hit .326 with nine home runs and 46 RBI while leading the Yellow Jackets to the NCAA Super Regionals. He was an eighth round draft pick of the Chicago Cubs on June 7.
