Georgia Tech Head Coach Danny Hall
I think Stephen Drew is a great player, but he gave us a chance by trying to flip the ball to second. The error gave us that extra opportunity to score. To our credit, we got some big hits after that, (Mike) Nickeas, (Micah) Owings and (Jeremy) Slayden all got big hits. So, obviously we got some big hits after the door was opened with the error. I hate it for (Stephen) Drew, because he's a great player. But, if he had it to do all over again, I think he would have just taken the double play by himself.
(On keeping your team going when they were down going into the ninth)
We've been playing hard. I really like what I've seen the last few days out of our club. We've had a lot of different guys contribute. It started with (Tyler) Greene who led the ninth off with a base hit and kind of gave us some life. We had some great at-bats after that off of (Daniel) Hodges. He's a great closer, but we had some great at-bats.
(On coaching in a triple header)
Never have. I've been coaching a long time and have never had a team play in a triple header. But, why not?
Florida State Head Coach Mike Martin
To those guys, you tell them that you love them and how humbling that this game can be. What happened, who would have ever thought it could happen? But it proves how unpredictable this game can be. Daniel Hodges had not given up by 2 runs this year and those 2 came on different occasions. It was a great job of hitting by Georgia Tech. It was a game that you thought you had control of at 7-2. Yet you didn't. You just take your hat of to Georgia Tech. It will be unprecedented if they win 3 games in one day. I don't know when anyone has ever done that in college baseball.
(On still being able to play after the loss)
Last year we went into the regionals winning 22 in a row and we lucked up and won three in a row. After winning 25 in a row we lost the next 2 out of 3. There is a totally different perspective this year.
(On talking to his infielders after the 9th inning error)
It is not my nature when I have got guys that know exactly what to do. We just did not execute. It is just one of those things where you have to take your hat off to Georgia Tech.
