GREENSBORO, N.C. - Florida State's Dennis Guinn has been tabbed this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week, while Georgia Tech's Zach Von Tersh earns Pitcher of the Week accolades.

A native of Haines City, Fla., Guinn led 12th-ranked Florida State to a four-game sweep over previously undefeated Auburn last week. The senior first baseman paced the team in hits (9), runs batted in (6), home runs (3) and slugging percentage (1.188). He was a triple short of hitting for the cycle as he collected three RBI, scored twice and made nine putouts at first base in game one at Auburn - a 7-5 win last Thursday. Against the Tigers at home over the weekend, Guinn hit home runs in back-to-back games and recorded a total of three for the series. He also was perfect from the field in 38 opportunities at first base, registering 34 putouts and four assists.

Garnering his first league recognition, Von Tersch picked up his first win of the season as the 22nd-ranked Yellow Jackets won the series over Rutgers after shutting out the Knights 6-0 on Sunday. The sophomore hurler tossed 7.0 innings, holding Rutgers hitters to three hits while striking out seven and walking a pair. Von Tersch, who hails from Cedar Falls, Iowa, faced 24 batters in the contest and allowed just two runners past first base in the victory.

Both schools are back in action tomorrow, with conference action starting this weekend. Florida State hosts UNC Asheville on Tuesday and Wednesday before hosting Maryland in a three-game series.

Georgia Tech also remains at home, entertaining Western Carolina tomorrow and Kennesaw State on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets will then prepare for a weekend series against Virginia Tech.
