Dennhardt Shines In BC's 3-0 Shutout of Dartmouth Dennhardt struck out 11 batters in his outing which is a career high. He scattered five hits and did not allow a walk while improving to 5-0 on the season. He allowed just two runners to reach second base - one in the first inning and then one in the eighth. He retired nine-straight hitters after allowing a leadoff single in the first and there were three innings in which he struck out two batters. Sophomore Nate Bayuk came on in relief with one out in the ninth in a bases loaded jam. He picked up his first save of the year after striking out Dartmouth's two best hitters to end the threat. Hokies post 10-4 win over neighboring Radford The Hokies (27-17) put up two quick runs in the bottom of the first, with left fielder Klint Reed (Chesterfield, Va.) scoring on a double by first baseman Wates (Richmond), and right fielder Mike Kaminski (Ventura, Calif.) coming home on a sacrifice fly to right by catcher Anthony Sosnoskie (Front Royal, Va.). The Highlanders, now 20-19 on the season, got one of those runs back in the top of the second when first baseman Alex Gregory led off with a solo home run to right field - his sixth long ball of the season. Terps Hold off West Virginia Rally, Win 8-7 The win gave the Terrapins (22-24) their eighth straight midweek victory of the season. The Terps scored a pair of runs in the opening frame to stake starting pitcher Sander Beck to an early 2-0 lead. Leadoff batter Jensen Pupa walked and stole second base, advancing to third on a throwing error by catcher Tobias Streich. Third baseman Mike Murphy brought Pupa home with an infield single to third and came around to score on a two-out single to center field by first baseman Will Greenberg. Wake Forest Downed by Coastal Carolina With the loss, Wake Forest drops to 21-24 on the season, while Coastal Carolina improves to 33-13. Wake Forest enjoyed a 2-1 lead through an inning and a half, but the Coastal offense exploded for six runs in the third, three runs in the fourth and six runs in the sixth inning to pull away for the victory.
