Sobolewski answered Bautista's two-run home run with his own two-run shot deep to center field tying the game, 9-9, in the bottom of the ninth. Alonso walked to lead off the inning, before Sobolewski hit his second home run of the season. Raben followed Sobolewski with a single to right field and moved to second on Gus Menendez's sacrifice bunt. After Nick Freitas was intentionally walked, Hagerty grounded out. Jackson laced a single up the middle to score Raben for the game-winner.

Bautista hit a two-out two-run home run in the top of the 10th putting the Panthers ahead, 9-7.

Alonso's base-hit in the bottom of the seventh scored Jackson to tie the game, 7-7.

FIU exploded for six runs in the top of the seventh to go ahead, 7-6. James McOwen doubled and scored on an infield single and throwing error. Bautista, Raimy Fuentes, Kevin Mirabal and Corey Lozano all had run-scoring hits rallying the Panthers from a five-run deficit.

Tomas' two-run double highlighted a three-run fifth-inning for the Hurricanes. Jason Hagerty led off the fifth with an infield single. Blake Tekotte reached on a fielding error. Tomas then ripped a double down the left field line. Alonso then singled him in putting Miami ahead, 6-1.

Cody Jacobs' solo home run for FIU made it, 3-1, in the top of the third.

Alonso's RBI single scored Tomas, who hit a one-out single and advanced to second on outfield error as Miami took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The Hurricanes extended their lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second. Chris Petralli and Dave DiNatale walked before Hagerty's infield single loaded the bases.
