Savannah, Ga. - The Boston College baseball team strung together a key two-out rally in the eighth inning, scoring three runs and overcoming a two run deficit to win 5-4.

Jett Ruiz remained hot, helping stake the Eagles to a two-run advantage in the top of the first inning with an RBI single to left field. Shawn McGill provided the other RBI to give the Eagles an early 2-0 lead.

Savannah State countered by scoring one run in the bottom of the first, and again in the third. Starter Nate Jeanes tossed five solid innings of four-hit ball, striking out five.

The Tigers took a 4-2 the lead in the sixth, scoring two more runs but the Eagles stormed back with a three-run rally in the eighth. Freshman Eric Campbell doubled to right field, scoring McGill, who walked to start the inning. Johnny Ayers knocked home Campbell with a single up the middle, and would score the game-winner when captain Dave Preziosi knocked him home two batters later.

Kevin Boggan surrendered no hits in the final two frames to pick up the save for Dan Houston who relieved Jeanes and grabbed his first win of the year.

The Eagles travel to Kennesaw, Ga. to play St. Peter's and Kennesaw State next Friday.
