Charlottesville, Va. - Virginia's Jennifer Owens (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) and Bobby Thiele (Charlottesville, Va./Charlottesville) were both named Runners of the Week by Ragged Mountain Running Shop as they paced the Cavalier cross country teams to their best combined finish since 1990.

Owens led the women to a third place finish, including an upset of 19th-ranked Wake Forest as she took home fourth place individually. Her time of 17:30.5 was tops for the Cavaliers in earning her second consecutive All-ACC honor.

Thiele was also named an All-ACC performer for the second year in a row as the men finished in fourth place, their highest finish in the conference meet since 1995 (fourth).

The Cavaliers will return to action in two weeks to compete in the NCAA Southeast Regional on November 13 in Greenville, SC.
