Allie Kieffer Greg Billington
What is something that most people don't know about you?
I'm really shy.

How did you get involved in competitive running?
My sister got me started. I joined a track club when I was in kindergarten because of my sister. She was really fast. I stopped that in second grade, but started again in middle school. We would run for tic-tacs.

Did you play any other sports in high school?
I played soccer until 11th grade.

Why did you choose Wake Forest?
The coach and the team. I really connected with all of the girls when I came for my official visit. Coach (Annie Bennett) is really nice and open and easy to talk to.

What do you do when you're not running?
I watch football a lot. College football. I watch Wake Forest a lot.

Who is your most influential role model?
My mom. She is amazing. She is so strong. She had a rough childhood, but she came out and raised me and my sister so well. I don't know how she did what she did.

What is the best advice you have ever received from a coach?
Listen to your body. Coach Annie tells us we are our best coach and we have to listen to our bodies and tell her because she doesn't know everything. You know yourself better than she knows you.

What is your most memorable moment in sports?
Making the Foot Locker Invitational in high school. The Foot Locker Invite is like a high school cross country national championship. There are four regions and the top eight from each region make the Foot Locker Invite. I (set a personal best) by a minute to make it. People thought I cut the course afterwards, I improved by so much.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming ACC Championship?
I am really excited and the team is really excited. We have a really good shot to do well and place in the top three, so everyone is focusing and is going to go out and do their best. I have never raced on the course. I have already run against Virginia Tech and Florida State this year. I have looked up results from other people that will be in the race. This is my third ACC Championship race.

What is something that most people don't know about you?
I grew up on a farm in England.

You were born in Washington but grew up in England. What took you over there?
My parents took me over there. My dad works on a military base as a teacher. They also like all of the travel opportunities.

How did you get involved in competitive running?
My brother ran in high school. He enjoyed it, so when I got to high school I started as well.

Did you play any other sports in high school?
I swam and did triathlons.

Why did you choose Wake Forest?
I was looking for a school that had really strong academics. I also wanted a school that would let me train for triathlons as part of my running training. The coaches at Wake Forest were very accepting of swimming and biking as cross training. I got a really great academic scholarship as well.

What do you do when you're not running?
Wake Forest is very rigorous academically, so I spend most of my time running. There are a lot of sporting events at Wake, so I go to those. I also hang out with my friends.

Who is your most influential role model?
My parents. They really shaped who I am today.

What is the best advice you have ever received from a coach?
Sports should be something you enjoy. When you start taking it too seriously, that's when problems start to arise. Have fun at your sport.

How did it feel to get your first collegiate win earlier this year?
It really felt nice. I hadn't won much of anything since high school. Even though my time wasn't where I wanted it to be for the race, it was still a great feeling to go into the final sprint knowing I could win it and pull it off.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming ACC Championship?
As a team, I know we are all looking forward to competing and seeing how we stack up against other ACC teams. I'm looking forward to a race where I can really compare myself to what I've done before and see how far I've progressed since last year. Not as much as last year. We had a race against them early this year, but we didn't see them at Penn State or Lehigh. I have never run on the course. The team ran over there, but I didn't run in the race.
