NC State's Laura Hoer and Ryan Hill earn ACC Cross Country Performer of the Week Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – NC State swept this week’s ACC Cross Country Performer of the Week awards with Ryan Hill and Laura Hoer earning this week’s honors.
Hoer, a freshman from Asheville, N.C., pulled away from a talented field in the final meters and won the Roy Griak Invitational with the third-fastest winning time in the history of the event. In winning her second-straight race, Hoer ran the 6k course in 20:38.4 and won by 2.4 seconds over a field included six ranked teams.
In his first race of the season, Hill, a 2009 All-American, led NC State to a second-place finish, behind team champion Duke, at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn., by finishing fourth overall, the highest finish by an ACC runner. The Hickory, N.C., native completed the 8k course in a time of 24:16.9.
