GREENSBORO, N.C. - NC State junior Beth Fonner and sophomore David Patterson have earned the third ACC Cross Country Performer of the Week honors after winning the individual championships at the Wolfpack Invitational in Raleigh, N.C., over the weekend.

Fonner, a native of Trinity, N.C., ran the 5,224-meter course in a time of 18:40 to capture first place in the women's race. Fonner led No. 9 NC State to a first place finish out of 14 teams with 37 total points.

Patterson, a redshirt sophomore from Cary, N.C., won the men's individual championship with a time of 23:38 in the 7,400-meter race. Patterson, who was the ACC Rookie of the Year in 1998, led No. 8 NC State to a first place finish with 22 points.

NC State swept the Wolfpack Invitational for the sixth time in the eight-year history of the event.
