The Cavalier women's cross country team was the first team with five finishers across the line today but the Wolfpack edged the Hoos 37-40 at the ACC Preview Cross Country meet today at N. C. State. Sarah Folse (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor) and Dana Coons (Vienna, Va./James Madison) were the top two finishers for the Cavaliers, finishing third and fourth respectively. Jess Thomas (Pt. Pleasant, N.J./Pt. Pleasant, N.J.-Borough) also was a top-10 finisher for Virginia, taking ninth overall.

On the men's side, the Cavaliers also placed three in the top ten with Bobby Thiele (Charlottesville, Va./Charlottesville) leading the charge. Matt Ruhl took fifth for Virginia and Ryan Webb (Lynchburg, Va./E. C. Glass) finished tenth, helping the Cavaliers finish second overall.

Virginia will compete in the William & Mary Colonial Invitational next weekend, September 23.
