Virginia Announces 2006 Cross Country Schedule
June 22, 2006 The Virginia Cavaliers, the defending ACC men's cross country champions, will host the 2006 ACC Cross Country Championships, as announced by Jason Dunn, the Hoos' head coach. The ACC meet will be one of three meets hosted by the Cavaliers, who will open the 2006 season with the Lou Onesty Invitational on Sept. 9. Virginia will travel to Minnesota two weeks later to compete in the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 23, and three weeks later will return to the midwest to compete in the NCAA Pre-Nationals meet at site of the 2006 Championships, Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Cavaliers will then host meets on consecutive Saturdays, starting with the ACC Championships on Oct 28 before hosting the Cavalier Open on November 4. The following week (Nov. 11) Virginia will compete at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Louisville, KY with the goal of competing at the NCAA Championships on Nov. 20.
