Jefferson Named To 2006 All-ACC Academic Team
March 31, 2007 GREENSBORO, N.C. - Seven All-Conference honorees including five All-Americans secured spots on the 2006 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Women's Cross Country Team as announced Thursday by Commissioner John D. Swofford. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career. Maryland senior Laurel Jefferson was named to the 2006 All-ACC S Academic Cross Country Team. Jefferson is an English/French/History major from Silver Spring, Md. Student Athletes earning All-ACC honors this past fall were Boston College's Mallory Champa, Duke's Emily McCabe and Maddie McKeever, NC State's Bona Jones and Brittany Tinsley, Virginia's Katie Read and Wake Forest's Michelle Sikes. In addition, Champa, McCabe, McKeever, Jones and Sikes earned All-America recognition. Repeaters from last year's academic team include Maryland's Laurel Jefferson, Boston College's Nichole Lister, Duke's Laura Stanley, Florida State's Abigail Wilshire, Wake Forest's Sikes and NC State's Tinsley
